42-year-old arrested over rape of teenage girl with disabilities in N'ganj

A joint team of RAB-11 and RAB-6 have arrested Habibur Rahman Habu, 42, the prime accused in the rape of a girl with disabilities in Sonargaon, Narayanganj.
Habu was apprehended yesterday (10 March) from the Goalpara area under the Sadar Police Station in the Jhenaidah district, confirmed Squadron Leader Ishtiaq Hossain, company commander of RAB-11.
He said Habu had been on the run since the incident and had been handed over to the Sonargaon Police Station.
The accused is the son of Atash Ali from the Rautgaon area of Jampur Union in Sonargaon Upazila.
RAB stated that on the afternoon of 22 February, when the victim, a teenager, was on her way from her home in Sonargaon to a neighboring village, Habu called her as she reached the front of his house and took her inside.
There, Habu raped the girl.
Later, he threatened her not to disclose the incident before letting her go.
After learning about the incident, the victim's mother filed a rape case against the accused at Sonargaon Police Station.
