4 detained 'drug dealers' snatched during drive in Narayanganj, 3 sepoi injured

The Department of Narcotics Control today (18 March) detained four suspected drug dealers in an anti-drug operation in Narayanganj's Fatullah.
However, DNC officials were attacked during the drive and the suspects were snatched away by a group of armed individuals.
Three DNC sepoi were injured in the incident, said DNC Narayanganj office Deputy Director Md Bahauddin.
"Around 12:00pm today, a DNC team conducted an anti-drug operation in the alley opposite Rokeya School in Masdair area of Sadar upazila. At that time, four drug dealers carrying locally-made weapons were detained.
"Later, when we went to recover more drugs, a team of 12-15 people armed with locally-made weapons ambushed us and snatched the detainees," he said.
Upon receiving the information, the BGB and police conducted another operation on the instructions of the deputy commissioner and recovered a large amount of narcotics and weapons, he added.
However, no one could be detained, he further said.
