A mobile court has seized three dredgers and one bulkhead from the Mawa side of the Padma River during an illegal sand extraction.

The operation was conducted today (8 October) by the Louhajang Upazila administration's mobile court, with the assistance of the Coast Guard.

Judge Kayesur Rahman of the mobile court said, "Illegal dredging in the Padma River had been causing erosion along the riverbanks for a long time. Acting on complaints from local residents, the operation was carried out on Tuesday."
