2 graves robbed in Kushtia

Two skeletons have been stolen from a graveyard in Kushtia's Kumarkhali.
"The incident took place yesterday night (24 February) at the Nurpur Paharpur cemetery in Chapra union of the upazila," Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kumarkhali police station, Solaiman Sheikh, told The Business Standard today (25 February).
"We have heard about the matter. Necessary action will be taken after receiving a complaint," he said.
According to locals, the stolen skeletons were of Sara Khatun, 85, and her grandson Ratul, 14. The miscreants dug two adjacent graves in the cemetery and stole the skeletons.
Sara's grandson Rizvi said, "After Fajr prayers, when my father came to visit the graves of my grandmother and grandfather, he saw that the graves of my grandmother and cousin were dug up and skeletons were missing.
"We will file a written complaint with the police station," he added.
