Two people were injured in a clash between two factions of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement in Brahmanbaria today (23 November) reportedly over forming a committee.

The injured were identified as Borhan Uddin, 21 and Faisal, 27. They were admitted to Brahmanbaria General Hospital and later transferred to a private hospital in the city.

The incident occurred at Government Model Girls High School in the district this afternoon, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Brahmanbaria Sadar Police Station Mohammad Mozzaffor Hossain said.

"The injured have been admitted to the hospital. However, no party has filed a complaint with the police station regarding this incident," the OC added.

According to eyewitnesses and students, a meeting was organised at Government Model Girls High School ground today to form a committee in accordance with the central committee's directive.

At one point during the meeting, there was an altercation between the two groups leaving two people injured.

However, no leaders of the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement could be reached for comment.
