15 shot as rival groups clash over dominance in Munshiganj

At least 15 people, including several women, were shot and injured in a clash between two rival groups over establishing dominance in Munshiganj's Sreenagar upazila last night (8 March).
According to local sources, a long-standing dispute over local dominance had been ongoing between two rival groups led by Mannan Kha and his uncle Harun Kha on one side and Mizanur Rahman on the other.

After the Taraweeh prayers at night, a group of 10 to 15 armed men including Mannan Kha, Harun Kha, and Amin Kha allegedly attacked Mizanur's residence.
The attackers reportedly entered the premises and opened fire indiscriminately, leaving 15 people injured.
The injured are Mizanur Rahman, Minu Begum, Joytun Begum, Kajol Begum, Eva, Bannya, Nupur Begum, Ayan, Fahima, Dolon, Alamin, Khorshekh Kha, Mostakim, Idris Kha and Safi Begum.
Local residents rescued the injured and took them to different hospitals for treatment.
Among the injured, Minu Begum was critically wounded and referred to Dhaka for advanced treatment. The condition of Mizanur Rahman was also reported to be critical.
Tension continues to prevail in the area following the incident. Police have increased surveillance in the locality.
Jewel Mia, officer-in-charge of Sreenagar Police Station, said the incident is under investigation and further details will be disclosed later.
