1 killed, 5 injured in separate accidents on Dhaka-Mawa Expressway today

A man was killed and five others were injured in two separate road accidents in the Sreenagar area of Munshiganj on the Dhaka-Mawa Expressway.
The incidents occurred in the early hours of today (21 April).
According to the Fire Service, at around 3am, an unidentified pedestrian was killed on the spot after being hit by an unknown vehicle while attempting to cross the road on the Mawa-bound lane near Sreenagar Ferry Ghat.
The identity of the deceased could not be confirmed immediately.
Two units from Srinagar Fire Service recovered the body and handed it over to the Highway Police, said fire service station officer Dewan Azad Hossain.
In another incident around 7am, a pickup van carrying workers and materials involved in road repair overturned on the service road adjacent to the Sreenagar Railway Overbridge of the same expressway.
The accident occurred after one of the vehicle's tyres suddenly burst, causing the driver to lose control.
Five workers travelling in the pickup were injured.
The injured were identified as Anichur Rahman, 42, Robi Mondol, 44, Dhononjoy Mondol, 47, Abhi, 22, and Shafik, 40.
All of them are residents of Hajigaon area under Keyain Union of Sirajdikhan upazila in Munshiganj.
Sreenagar Fire Service officials promptly arrived at the scene, rescued the injured, and sent them to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex by a Fire Service ambulance.
Fire Service Station officer Dewan Azad Hossain confirmed that the injured in the morning accident were rescued and sent to the hospital.
Deputy Assistant Director of Munshiganj Fire Service and Civil Defence Muhammad Shafiqul Islam, said that necessary measures have been taken in both incidents and the matter is currently under investigation.
