1 killed, 30 injured in bus-pickup collision in Faridpur
At least 30 passengers on the bus were injured in the crash.
A fruit trader was killed and at least 30 passengers were injured in a head-on collision between a pickup truck and a bus on the Faridpur–Barishal highway in Bhanga upazila of Faridpur this morning (13 April).
The deceased was Md Jahangir Molla, 32, from Bhanga.
Bhanga Highway Police Station Sub-Inspector Md Mamun said the head-on collision between the pickup and the bus resulted in one fatality, adding that the injured were taken to nearby hospitals.
According to witnesses and police, the pickup loaded with fruits, travelling from Tekerhat towards Bhanga, attempted to overtake another vehicle when it collided head-on with a passenger bus. The fruit trader, who was on the pickup, died at the scene.
At least 30 passengers on the bus were injured in the crash. Police and locals rescued the injured and admitted them to various hospitals for treatment.
