Sensitive centres will receive additional measures
Home Adviser Lt Gen (retd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury today said the law and order situation in Khulna division is fully under control ahead of the 13th national election, assuring that the polls will be free, fair, peaceful, and uninterrupted.
"There is no reason for being concerned in this region. The election will be held in a festive environment," he said.
Speaking to journalists after a meeting with regional administrative and law enforcement officials, he said voting and results are secure, and all polling centres will operate in a festive environment.
He outlined election-time security, noting deployment of over 100,000 of the Army, 5,000 Navy personnel, 4,000 Coast Guard members, 3,500 naval personnel, nearly 100,000 police personnel, 37,000 BGB personnel, 9,000 RAB members and over 500,000 Ansar members will be engaged in election duties, supported by CCTV surveillance, with body cameras, dog squads and drone monitoring in place.
Sensitive centres will receive additional measures.
Calling upon the media, he urged the media to report responsibly and warned against false or misleading news.
The meeting, chaired by Senior Secretary Nasimul Gani, included senior officials from ten districts.
Jahangir left Khulna by helicopter at 2:45pm.
