Deadline for nomination submission for Bogura-6, Sherpur-3 polls today

The deadline for submission of nomination papers for the general election to Sherpur-3 constituency and the by-election to the vacant Bogura-6 constituency ends today (2 March).
According to the schedule announced by the Election Commission (EC), voting in the two constituencies will be held on Thursday, April 9, from 7:30am to 4:30pm uninterruptedly, through ballot papers to be cast in transparent ballot boxes.
As per the election timetable, 2 March is the final date for filing nomination papers, while scrutiny of the submitted papers by the returning officers will take place on 5 March.
Appeals against the decisions of the returning officers may be filed from 6 March to 10 March, with disposal of appeals scheduled for 11 March.
The last date for withdrawal of candidature is March 14 and election symbols will be allotted on 15 March.
Earlier, on 24 February, the Election Commission issued two separate gazette notifications announcing the general election for Sherpur-3 and the by-election for the vacant Bogura-6 seat.
