EC dispatches ballot paper to 21 districts ahead of polls
Election materials will be stored at the returning officers’ offices and delivered to each polling centre the day before voting.
The Election Commission (EC) has begun sending ballot papers with candidate names and symbols to returning officers ahead of the 13th parliamentary elections and referendum, reaching 21 districts in two phases since yesterday (1 February).
In the first phase yesterday (1 February), ballot papers were sent to 13 districts: Meherpur, Kushtia, Chuadanga, Jhenaidah, Bagerhat, Moulvibazar, Dinajpur, Panchagarh, Lalmonirhat, Lakshmipur, Bandarban, Khagrachhari, and Rangamati.
In the second phase today (2 February), delivered ballots to eight more districts: Habiganj, Chapainawabganj, Gazipur, Munshiganj, Barishal, Patuakhali, Pirojpur, and Barguna.
EC said that it is dispatching ballot papers and other election materials from Dhaka in stages under tight security.
Materials will be stored at the returning officers' offices and delivered to each polling centre the day before voting.
Separately, the EC has instructed Ansar and VDP members to serve outside their home areas during the elections and referendum.
The commission has also directed that these personnel remain neutral and not be deployed in their own unions.
Voting for the 13th national parliamentary elections and referendum is scheduled to take place on 12 February.
