Disrespectful remarks about women against social decorum: Khasru
“If BNP forms the government, women’s participation in the workforce will be increased further compared to the present,” he said.
Any kind of disrespectful remark about women is extremely unfortunate and against social decorum, BNP Standing Committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury said today (2 February).
"Women make up more than half of the country's population, and their priority is acknowledged in both religion and politics. Sustainable development is not possible by excluding women," he said while conducting door-to-door campaigning in different areas of South Patenga Ward-41 and Ward-37 in Chattogram.
"At a time when efforts are being made to increase women's participation in all sectors, making vulgar remarks about them is in no way acceptable. The general public will deliver the proper judgment on such behaviour."
He further said that BNP is moving forward by following the ideals and uncompromising leadership of Khaleda Zia.
"If BNP forms the government, women's participation in the workforce will be increased further compared to the present," he added.
Khasru emphasised ensuring women's overall security and empowerment, alongside education, healthcare and employment.
Outlining BNP's plans for Chattogram, he said the city would be developed into a full-fledged logistics hub and a centre of international trade, so that Chattogram could emerge as a modern and prosperous commercial capital.
