3 injured in Gopalganj as crude bomb blasts in polling centre
The incident occurred at around 9am at the Resma International School polling centre in the city’s Nichupara area, confirmed Presiding Officer Zahirul Islam.
Two Ansar members and a teenage girl were injured after a crude bomb exploded at a polling centre in Gopalganj city this morning (12 February).
The injured have been identified as Ansar members Sukanta Majumdar and Jamal Molla, and 13-year-old Amena Khanam, daughter of Ashraf Ali Mishu from the city's Arambagh area.
The incident occurred at around 9am at the Resma International School polling centre in the city's Nichupara area, confirmed Presiding Officer Zahirul Islam.
According to the presiding officer, the injuries sustained by the victims were minor. Despite the explosion, polling at the centre remained uninterrupted.
"Voting is proceeding normally," Islam said, noting that 198 votes were cast at the centre within the first two hours of the polls.
