Crude bombs exploded near 7 polling centres in Gopalganj hours before voting

Several crude bombs exploded near at least seven polling centres in Gopalganj just hours before voting in the 13th national election, triggering panic in the area.
The explosions occurred between 7pm and 8:30pm on Wednesday (11 February) in areas under the Gopalganj-2 and Gopalganj-3 constituencies.
Confirming the incidents, Additional Superintendent of Police (DSB) Md Sarwar Hossain said crude bombs detonated at five to seven locations. "The explosions were apparently aimed at creating panic, and police are investigating to identify those responsible."
No casualties were reported after the incidents.
According to police and locals, the explosions took place near the following polling centres: Binapani Govt Girls' High School in Madhyapara, Reshma International School in Nichupara, SM Model Govt Primary School in the Nila Math area, Raghunathpur Govt Primary School in Gopalganj Sadar, Dosh Polli NK High School at Majhigati, Durgapur High School, and Guadhana Silna Bindu Basini High School in Tungipara upazila.
Police visited the sites soon after the incidents and recovered evidence. Army personnel also inspected the affected areas, and security has been tightened.
On 10 February, a crude bomb exploded on a road beside a garden near the municipal area in front of the deputy commissioner's office.
Earlier, in January, explosions were reported near the district and sessions judge's residence on College Road, the Ansar Battalion headquarters in Bedgram, and the main gate of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Science and Technology University in Gobra.
In December, another explosion occurred on the road in front of the main gate of the Chief Judicial Magistrate's Court premises.
