'Be cautious': Opposition leader Raut warns of 'Nepal-like situation in India,' tags PM Modi, BJP
Raut shared a video of street violence and arson from Kathmandu on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Nepal today… this situation can arise in any country. Beware! Bharat Mata ki Jai, Vande Mataram.”

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Tuesday (9 September) issued a stern warning to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), citing the political unrest in neighbouring Nepal as a cautionary example.
Raut shared a video of street violence and arson from Kathmandu on X (formerly Twitter), writing, "Nepal today… this situation can arise in any country. Beware! Bharat Mata ki Jai, Vande Mataram." He tagged PM Modi and the BJP in his post, making his target of criticism explicit.
The comments came hours after Nepal Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli resigned following massive youth-led protests against a social media ban and government corruption, which left at least 19 people dead.
The demonstrations escalated from online restrictions to broader discontent over nepotism and corruption.
Raut's post quickly sparked debate on social media. Supporters echoed his warning about the dangers of ignoring public anger, while critics accused him of inciting unrest.
