Israel says 80 jets struck Iranian military sites in Tehran, central Iran
The Israeli military said the targets included the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ Imam Hossein military university in the Iranian capital, which it said was used for officer training and as an assembly compound
Israel said on Saturday that more than 80 of its air force fighter jets struck what it described as key Iranian military infrastructure in Tehran and central parts of the country.
The Israeli military said the targets included the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' Imam Hossein military university in the Iranian capital, which it said was used for officer training and as an assembly compound, says The Guardian.
It said the strikes also targeted ballistic missile storage facilities, underground missile command infrastructure and launch sites in western and central Iran that it claimed were aimed at Israel.
"These strikes degrade the Iranian regime's ability to fire at Israeli civilians," the Israeli military said in a post on X.
The Israel Defense Forces said earlier on Saturday it had launched fresh "broad-scale" strikes on targets in Tehran.
