288 Indians remain missing after Nepal floods: MEA
Those missing include hydropower workers and tourists, while around 200 Indians in Tibet have sought assistance, says India.
A total of 288 Indians remain missing after flash floods hit Nepal, India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said today (26 August).
Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said those missing included hydropower workers and tourists.
Twenty-one Indians from Tamil Nadu have been rescued, he said, adding that around 200 Indians in Tibet have also sought assistance from India.

"Those 200 people are stranded there and will be evacuated," he said.
Some people may also be missing, and authorities do not yet have complete information about them, he added.
India will continue to provide all possible assistance to Nepal in dealing with the situation caused by the flash floods, Jaiswal said.
The country is also considering sending additional relief supplies to Nepal, he added.
Asked about the death toll in Nepal, Jaiswal said India had no information on the number of deaths at that time.
"The situation there is constantly evolving. As soon as we receive more information, we will share it with you," he added.
