In Pakistan, UN starts damage assessment

A UN spokesperson in Islamabad said the UN Military Observer Group in India and Pakistan had sent vehicles to the sites that were targeted in Pakistani-administered Kashmir, as part of their mandate.

Created in 1949 to monitor an early India-Pakistan ceasefire in Kashmir, UNMOGIP is one of the longest-standing UN monitoring missions. As of February 2025, it had 106 members including 68 civilians and 37 experts on mission including troops and police from Croatia, the Philippines and South Korea.
