Bangladesh Air Force sends contingent to Central African Republic
On Friday, 125 BAF members left Dhaka on a UN chartered aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines
The Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) has sent a contingent of three MI-171 helicopters equipped with Night Vision System and 125 personnel for the UN peacekeeping mission deployed in the Central African Republic (MINUSCA).
On Friday, 125 BAF members left Dhaka for the Central African Republic on a United Nations (UN) chartered aircraft of the Biman Bangladesh Airlines, according to a press release issued by the ISPR.
This is the first time Bangladeshi peacekeepers have gone to a UN peacekeeping mission by a chartered plane of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

The Bangladesh Armed Military Utility Helicopter Unit will be led by Group Captain Md Asadul Karim, the press release adds.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat briefed the contingent members at the BAF Base Bashar on May 28, and offered special munajat (prayer) for the success of the mission.
The Chief of Air Staff advised them to discharge their duties with honesty, professionalism and sincerity, and to bring honour for the Bangladesh Air Force and the country.
Senior BAF officers were present at the Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport during their departure.
It is mentionable that BAF has achieved good reputation and glory by performing their duties in mitigating conflict with efficiency, professionalism and sincerity, the press release adds.
