BAF delegation pays respects to Milestone crash victim Mahtab

A Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) delegation paid their respects to Mahtab Rahman Bhuiyan, a student who tragically lost his life on 24 July following the Milestone School jet crash.
The delegation visited the victim's hometown in Chulash village, Rajamehar Union, Debidwar Upazila, Cumilla today (27 July).
Led by Wing Commander Md Atik Hasan, the delegation paid tribute at Mahtab's grave on behalf of the Chief of Air Staff.
Mahtab's father, Md Minhajur Rahman Bhuiyan, was also present during the occasion.
Speaking at the site, Atik Hasan conveyed deep condolences.
"On behalf of the Bangladesh Air Force and the Chief of Air Staff, we have paid tribute at Mahtab's grave. We are profoundly saddened by this tragedy. The entire nation is united in prayer for strength to overcome this grief, and we also pray for the swift recovery of those injured," he said.
Hasan said investigations into the crash at Milestone School are ongoing.
He assured that updates and information regarding support for the victims' families will be shared through the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Mahtab's father expressed his heartfelt appreciation to the nation.
"People across the country have prayed for my son, and I am deeply thankful to all. I pray that my child is honoured as a martyr," he said.
Mahtab, a Class 7 student, had sustained 75% burns.
He was initially rescued by the army and taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital. Later, he was transferred to the ICU at the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery.
Mahtab succumbed to his injuries on 24 July. He was laid to rest that evening in his family graveyard.
