3 Air Force personnel killed, 4 injured as pickup falls from Dhaka airport flyover
The pickup reportedly lost control before plunging from the flyover on the second floor of the Third Terminal.
Three Bangladesh Air Force personnel were killed and four others injured after an Air Force pickup truck fell from a flyover at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport's Third Terminal in Dhaka last night (31 August).
The accident occurred around 10:20pm while the personnel were on regular duty, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate.
ISPR Director Lieutenant Colonel Sami Ud Doula Chowdhury confirmed the incident to The Business Standard.
The pickup reportedly lost control before plunging from the flyover on the second floor of the Third Terminal.
The deceased were identified as Warrant Officer Mahmud, Corporal Pias, and Leading Aircraftman (LAC) Zubaidul.
The injured were identified as Corporal Sifat Abu Saeed, Corporal Mahbub, LAC Ahad and Senior Officer Abul Khair.
Sifat, Mahbub and Ahad sustained serious injuries, while Abul Khair suffered minor injuries.
The injured and deceased personnel were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH), Dhaka, for treatment and further procedures.
