Bidisha Ershad sentenced to prison, arrest warrant issued for fraud in flat sale case

A court has sentenced Bidisha Ershad, the ex-wife of former President Hussain Muhammad Ershad, to two years in prison in a fraud case involving the sale of a flat worth Tk 7.5 million. Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Jamshed Alam announced the verdict on May 20. She was also fined Tk 10,000 and ordered to serve another month in prison in default.
