Why Is China Sending an Astronaut to Space for an Entire Year?
China's Shenzhou-23 mission is set to become a major step toward the country's planned Moon landing by 2030. The mission will send three astronauts to the Tiangong space station, including Hong Kong's first astronaut, while testing the effects of long-term space travel and conducting a groundbreaking embryo experiment in orbit. China says the research will help support future lunar missions and its goal of building a permanent Moon base by 2035.
