Why is China not backing down despite Trump's tariffs?
Despite imposing several rounds of tariffs on China, China is not listening. US President Donald Trump suspended the counter-tariffs announced on various countries for 90 days, but did not do so for China. Instead, he increased the tariff on the country's goods entering the United States to 145 percent, which he has also announced to implement. In response, Beijing increased the tariff on US goods to 125 percent on April 11. As if Beijing is not admitting defeat to Trump in any way.
