Expedite reform process to hold elections between this Dec and June next year: CA Yunus to Consensus Commission
The commission informed Yunus that discussions with political parties are ongoing, based on the recommendations submitted by various reform commissions

Chief Adviser Muhammad Yunus today (12 April) called for expediting the ongoing reform process, aiming to hold the national between December this year and June 2026.
He made the call during a meeting with National Consensus Commission Vice Chairman Professor Ali Riaz and member Badiul Alam Majumdar at his official residence Jamuna, reads a statement from CA's Press Wing.
Emphasising the importance of timely reforms, Yunus called for intensifying efforts to engage political parties in constructive dialogue and to advance the overall reform process.
Chief Adviser's Special Assistant (Consensus Building) Monir Haider was also present.
During the meeting, Ali Riaz and Badiul Alam updated Yunus, also the commission's chairman, on the progress of the commission's work.
They informed the chief adviser that discussions with political parties are ongoing, based on the recommendations submitted by various reform commissions.
As of today, dialogues have been completed with eight political parties and talks with the BNP are scheduled for next Thursday.
The two commission members also said several initiatives have been taken to gauge public opinion and raise awareness on the reform process among the general public.
