Why are Trump-Putin relations heading towards conflict?

At one time, Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump had a very good friendship and political understanding. It seemed that they would work together on many things and agree on many things. The US even sided with Russia at the United Nations last February. But now their relationship seems to be going in the opposite direction.
