Show-caused: NCP asks Nasir, Hasnat, Sarjis, Tasnim, Khaled to respond within 24hrs over Cox’s Bazar tour
Yesterday, the five NCP leaders hit headlines by vacationing in Cox's Bazar, avoiding the July Declaration ceremony in the capital's Manik Mia Avenue.

The National Citizen Party (NCP) has served show-cause notices on the party's five top leaders over their trips to Cox's Bazar, avoiding the July mass uprising anniversary programmes in the capital.
They have been asked to submit a written explanation regarding the Cox's Bazar tour to NCP Convener Nahid Islam and Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain by appearing physically within 24 hours.
Those who have been served notices are— the NCP's Chief Coordinator Nasiruddin Patwari, Chief Organiser (North) Sarjis Alam, Chief Organiser (South) Hasnat Abdullah, Senior Joint Member Secretary Tasnim Jara, and her husband Khaled Saifullah, who is also a joint convener of the party.
In separate show-cause notices issued today (6 August), signed by Saleh Uddin Sifat, joint member secretary (Office) of the NCP, it has been stated that the five leaders did not notify the political council of the party or any relevant individual about their tour to Cox's Bazar beforehand.
Yesterday, the five NCP leaders hit headlines by vacationing in Cox's Bazar, avoiding the July Declaration ceremony in the capital's Manik Mia Avenue.
There were rumours that the five held a meeting with former US ambassador to Bangladesh, Peter Haas, in Cox's Bazar.
The group, however, denied the claim.
Speaking to The Business Standard yesterday, Nasiruddin said, "The news circulating in the media about us having a meeting with Peter Haas is a rumour and baseless."
He told the media that it was a "personal visit".
