On April 22, 2025, a horrific terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, claimed the lives of at least 26 tourists. This is the deadliest attack in the Kashmir region since 2019. None of the victims were members of the military or government officials—they were ordinary people who had gone there for vacation. This attack not only caused tragic loss of life but also severely damaged the image of a "normal Kashmir" that India has worked hard to build.
