DJI’s first ever 360 camera is here to beat the Insta360
The camera comes with a generous 105GB of internal storage, which the competition still lacks

DJI has finally answered Insta360's dominance in the panoramic action camera market, and it has done so with style. The new Osmo 360 arrives as a compact, well-engineered device that pushes the envelope with impressive specs and some welcome surprises.
A key highlight is its one-inch square sensor, custom-built for 360° capture. This design allows it to use 25% more sensor area than its main rival, resulting in sharper video and stronger low-light performance. It can shoot 8K videos at up to 50 frames per second and supports 10-bit D-LogM colour, delivering vivid dynamic range and detail in challenging lighting.
Design-wise, the Osmo 360 is shorter and lighter than the Insta360 X5, which makes it easier to mount and carry. It also includes a generous 105GB of internal storage — something the competition still lacks. Add a microSD card slot and up to three hours of shooting time (with the extension battery), and you get a well-rounded companion for creators on the move.
According to Engadget, DJI's RockSteady stabilisation works well in most conditions, though it struggles at night due to digital artefacts. The new DJI Studio app allows for keyframe edits and reframing, but it lacks polish and features compared to Insta360's mature software.
Still, the Osmo 360 delivers where it matters most; it offers excellent video quality, robust stabilisation, thoughtful hardware design, and clear audio with dual mic support. For a first attempt, DJI has produced a strong contender — one that finally gives Insta360 some real competition.
