More than 6,000 flee Kenya refugee camp as aid shortages worsen: UN

The major shift began in July as the WFP began reducing rations, categorising refugees under a four-tier scale and limiting assistance to the two worst-off groups

Renubala (45), in Sirajganj, at a mobile money cash-out point, received BDT 5,000 from WFP's anticipatory action support via mobile transfer. She used the money primarily for food and also to put together a raft so they could move back and forth. WFP distributed BDT 5,000 to each of more than 81,000 households four days before the floods peaked in several districts along the Jamuna River, including Kurigram, Sirajganj, Gaibandha, Bogura, and Jamalpur.
