Zimbabwe clinched victory in the first Test against Bangladesh by three wickets in a dramatic finish at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Wednesday.

The visitors appeared to be cruising towards a comfortable win, having raced to 95 without loss by the 21st over in pursuit of a modest target of 174. However, Miraz's five-for, supported by a brace from Taijul Islam, gave Bangladesh a fighting chance as the light began to fade.
Miraz sparked a collapse in the Zimbabwe innings by breaking the opening partnership with the dismissal of Ben Curran. This triggered a mini-slump, with Zimbabwe losing three further wickets for just 33 runs—two falling to Miraz and one to Taijul.
