Yasir shines as Dhanmondi win, Gazi Group and Brothers Union secure wins

Yasir Ali Chowdhury's career-best knock powered Dhanmondi Sports Club to a commanding win against Legends of Rupganj in a high-scoring Dhaka Premier League (DPL) clash at BKSP.

Meanwhile, Gazi Group Cricketers edged past Agrani Bank Cricket Club, and Brothers Union clinched their first victory of the season with standout performances from Mahfijul Islam Robin and Mizanur Rahman.

Yasir's heroics lift Dhanmondi to the top
Batting first, Dhanmondi posted a formidable 332 runs, with Yasir anchoring the innings after early setbacks. His unbeaten 143 off 121 balls included seven fours and seven sixes. Captain Nurul Hasan Sohan added 33 from 44 deliveries, while Moin Khan scored 62 off 63 balls. Ziaur Rahman contributed a quickfire 40 off just 18 balls, further boosting the total.

Rupganj's chase was led by Saif Hasan, who fell five runs short of a century, and Afif Hossain Dhrubo, who scored 98. Late cameos from Rejaur Rahman Raja (49 not out off 39 balls) and Tanvir Islam (20 not out off 11) brought them close, but they were eventually bowled out for 308. Masum Khan and Moin Khan picked up three wickets each for Dhanmondi, who remain the only team with two wins from two, topping the points table.

Imrul and Sadikur guide Gazi Group to victory
Gazi Group chased down a 217-run target against Agrani Bank at Mirpur, winning by four wickets. Agrani Bank, fresh from their victory over Abahani, managed 216 runs in 46.2 overs. Amit Hasan top-scored with 89, while captain Imrul Kayes hit a steady 50. Abdul Gaffar Saqlain shone with the ball for Gazi Group, taking three wickets, while Mukidul Islam Mugdho and Tofayel Ahmed claimed two each.

Despite losing captain Anamul Haque Bijoy early, opener Sadikur Rahman (89) and Tofayel (52) stabilised the innings with a 107-run partnership. Shamsur Rahman Shuvo added a measured 38 off 77 balls to see Gazi Group home with 14 balls to spare. Ruhel Mia and Robiul Haque took two wickets apiece for Agrani Bank.

Robin and Mizanur's centuries lead Brothers Union to first win
Brothers Union secured their maiden victory of the season, overcoming Shinepukur Cricket Club by seven wickets. Shinepukur, batting first, posted 288 for 9 in 50 overs, with Rahim Ahmed scoring 95. Al-Amin Hossain starred with the ball for Brothers, claiming 5 wickets for 50 runs in his 10 overs.

In reply, Brothers Union stumbled early as Imtiaz Hossain departed for 2, but Robin (114 off 127 balls) and Mizanur Rahman (136 off 129 balls, retired hurt) put on a 250-run partnership to turn the match around. Despite a brief stutter following their exits, Brothers Union reached the target comfortably, securing a morale-boosting win.
