Two Bangladeshis to participate in this year's Women's T20 Challenge

Two Bangladeshi cricketers are set to play in the Women's T20 Challenge which is also known as the Women's IPL. Jahanara Alam was the only Bangladeshi cricketer to have played in this tournament. The third edition is going to be hosted in Dubai and two Bangladeshi cricketers will participate in that.

But it is not yet known who are the two cricketers participating in that tournament. But a source from the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) stated that pacer Jahanara Alam is going to be one of them. Veteran all-rounder Salma Khatun will also play in the tournament.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has already contacted the two cricketers. But which team they are going to play is not finalised yet. According to the source from BCB, everything will be finalised in 8-10 days' time.

The source informed The Business Standard (TBS), "The BCCI has contacted Jahanara and Salma. It has asked them whether they want to play or have any national commitments. If they want to play, everything will be finalised within a few days."

According to ESPNCricinfo,  the Women's T20 Challenge will start on November 4 and the final will be held on November 9.

This year, two cricketers each from Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will participate. Cricketers from England and West Indies will also take part while most of them will be from India.

The cricketers will reach the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in the third week of October to play the three-team tournament. All of the cricketers will stay at the same hotel under a bio-secure bubble.

Like the IPL, the cricketers participating in the Women's T20 Challenge will have to quarantine themselves for six days. They will undergo three rounds of Covid-19 screening before starting training.
