Too early to talk about Liton's omission: Akram
Liton Das is one of those players who is supremely talented but has so far failed to translate his potential to performances.

Akram Khan, former Bangladesh skipper and chairman of cricket operations of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) said that it's time for the young players to follow the footsteps of the senior pros and perform to their potential.
He also mentioned that the board has been supporting them in every possible way and it's high time they stepped up.
Liton Das is one of those players who is supremely talented but has so far failed to translate his potential to performances.
Akram opined that it's too early to judge him now. "The captain and coach will decide on this (whether Liton should continue). Liton is one of our better players. He looked good today before getting out. As he is a proven performer and has played many good innings, I think it's too early to talk about his omission," he said.
On asked whether the team has become over-dependent on the senior players, Akram said, "The selectors can explain this better. We are very lucky to have these four players and they have been delivering the goods for a long time. But it's time for the youngsters to step up. It's not that they are not given enough chances. They should follow the senior players. They have to talk to them and learn how to reach the highest level."
"They all are good players. But we need quality players. The senior players need to share their experience and the youngsters should pick their brains. That's when they can become quality players. Because we from the board are supporting them in every possible way. They are being given chances and since there is a packed schedule ahead, it's the ideal time for the youngsters to start performing to their potential," Akram added.
