Nathan Kiely resigns as Bangladesh fitness coach
Bangladesh strength and conditioning coach Nathan Kiely has stepped down from his post, citing family reasons.
Kiely, who was appointed in April last year for two years, had six months left on his contract. He took a paternal leave during the Asia Cup but didn't return to Bangladesh after becoming a father on 24 September.
Bangladesh played the Asia Cup, Afghanistan series and the ongoing West Indies series without his service. Iftekhar Rahman continued as a fitness trainer during this period.
A BCB official said, Kiely officially emailed the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) this afternoon, confirming his resignation from the post.
Kiely introduced new fitness methods, including the much-talked-about "time trial" system in Bangladesh cricket. His innovative approach replaced traditional fitness assessments such as the Yo-Yo or Beep Test, sparking significant discussion within Bangladesh cricket circles.
