Shakib, Mustafiz join team practice after finishing quarantine
They were supposed to complete a two-week institutional quarantine but their quarantine period was reduced upon the BCB's request.
Shakib Al Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman were supposed to be out of quarantine on May 20 but granted permission to go home on Monday evening. The Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) chief physician Dr Debashish Chowdhury earlier said that the two IPL returnees would need the government's approval to join the team despite being released from quarantine. He added that they might start practising from May 19.
But the two cricketers joined the team on Tuesday as they got the green signal.
Bangladesh cricket team resumed practising on May 18 after the Eid vacation ahead of the Sri Lanka ODIs. The players were due to start practising from 4.30 pm but the session was delayed due to rain.

They couldn't practice for long because of the persistent rain.
Shakib and Mustafizur returned to Bangladesh on May 6 under special arrangements after the IPL had got postponed indefinitely. They were supposed to complete a two-week institutional quarantine but their quarantine period was reduced upon the BCB's request.
The cricketers of the preliminary squad entered the bio-secure bubble after the practice session on Tuesday. To ensure safety, the BCB had sent the hotel official and groundsmen in isolation seven days before.
The players of the preliminary team will play an intra-squad warm-up match on May 21.
Sri Lanka will lock horns with Bangladesh in the first ODI at Sher-E-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on May 23. The visitors will play two more ODIs on the same venue on May 25 and 28. All the matches will be part of the ODI Super League.
