Pacers union: Shoriful Islam and Rubel Hossain interview each other

In one of the more lighter interviews done, fast bowlers Shoriful Islam and Rubel Hossain interviewed each other.

Bangladesh are currently in New Zealand for an ODI and T20I series with the first ODI starting on March 20.

The younger of the two, Shoriful first asked Rubel a few questions first.

Shoriful: How are you liking New Zealand?

Rubel: I've come to New Zealand before quite a few times. The conditions here make it suitable for fast bowling. The wickets here are nice, sporting wickets. It's good for batting but it also offers something for the bowlers if they can bowl in the right areas.

Shoriful: I feel you are one of the most successful pacers in Bangladesh's history. You have memories of winning the team matches against New Zealand. The fans have a lot of expectations from you. So how hard are you trying to give your best for the team?

Rubel: I'm always trying to give it my best. God willing if I get an opportunity ahead I will give my 100 per cent. The good thing is I have memories of winning games against New Zealand and that's something I'll keep in my mind when playing against them. The key will be to execute according to the team's plans. I will try my level best.

Shoriful: Bangladesh have never defeated New Zealand in New Zealand. Can we break the duck this time? How confident are you?

Rubel: God willing, of course we can! We have the ability to that with the team we have. If we can stick to our plans and adjust according to the wickets then we can do something good against New Zealand.

Then it was Rubel's turn to ask the questions for his younger teammate.

Rubel: How's your practice going?

Shoriful: Thankfully it's going very well.

Rubel: What do you make of the wickets in New Zealand. This is your first tour.

Shoriful: The wicket is very good. Runs can be made. Anything wide and you will get punished. You have to maintain your line and length and bowl.

Rubel: How are you preparing since New Zealand are a tough team in their conditions?

Shoriful: The preparation is going well thankfully. It's their country and they know these conditions the best so playing against them will be tough. So I'll have to try and stick to my plans.

Rubel: What's your stock delivery? Are you focusing on that?

Shoriful: Yes, I'm focusing on that. It's a stump-to-stump ball with a bit of swing.

Rubel: Okay then, good luck! I wish you all the best brother.
