No play possible in Bangladesh-Pakistan match as rain has the final say
While the rain denied Bangladesh a final opportunity to play, it did not stop them from securing a financial boost.

Persistent rain in Rawalpindi ensured that Bangladesh and Pakistan's final Champions Trophy group match never got underway, with even the toss abandoned.
Both teams were forced to share points in what was ultimately a dead rubber, having already been eliminated from the tournament.
Despite the washout, the outcome had no impact on Group A, as Bangladesh's earlier defeat to New Zealand had already confirmed India and New Zealand as the semi-finalists. The two sides will now face off on 2 march to determine the group winner.
Financial gain despite elimination
While the rain denied Bangladesh a final opportunity to play, it did not stop them from securing a financial boost. Regardless of the match outcome, every participating team in the Champions Trophy is guaranteed $125,000 (Tk 15.1 million). With the abandonment, Bangladesh finish the tournament with a single point, ending third in their group based on net run rate (-0.443) ahead of Pakistan (-1.087).
Had Bangladesh entered the tournament as the seventh or eighth seed, they would have earned Tk 32.1 million, as teams in those positions receive Tk 17 million each. However, their final earnings will depend on the complete group stage standings.
With India and New Zealand having secured semi-final berths from Group A, the focus now shifts to Group B. Australia and South Africa lead the standings with three points each, with the Proteas ahead on net run rate. Afghanistan sit on two points, while England have yet to register a single point.
Bangladesh's final placement, and potential financial reward, could be affected by South Africa's upcoming match against England in Karachi. If the Proteas win, England will finish the tournament without a point, elevating Bangladesh to sixth place overall.
A sixth-place finish would significantly increase Bangladesh's earnings to Tk 57.4 million (5.74 crore), with the sixth-placed team receiving Tk 42.3 million (4.23 crore) in addition to the guaranteed Tk 15.1 million participation fee.
On 14 february, the ICC announced a total prize fund of $6.9 million (Tk 833.7 million) for the 2025 Champions Trophy. The tournament winners will claim $2.24 million (Tk 270.6 million), while the runners-up will take home $1.122 million (Tk 135.3 million). Additional bonuses are also awarded for each match won in the group stage.
