Mehidy Hasan Miraz was on the cusp of breaking a few records during the first Test which he couldn't make eventually. But the off-spinner did break some records at Mirpur as he reached 100 Test wickets on Saturday.

Miraz became the youngest and quickest Bangladeshi to reach 100 Test wickets, and he is so far the only one who doesn't bowl left-arm orthodox.

Miraz took 24 Tests to reach 100 Test wickets where he surpassed Taijul Islam who reached the milestone in 25 Tests. The other two bowlers, Shakib Al Hasan and Mohammad Rafique, reached the milestone in 28 and 33 Tests respectively.

The off-spinner broke into the century club aged 23 years 109 days at the start of the match, being the youngest among the four. Shakib stands next as he broke into the club aged Shakib 25 years and 242 days. Taijul was 27 years and 210 days when he got on to play his century making match. Rafique was the oldest among all. He was 37 years and 289 days old.

Miraz is also 4th youngest overall in world cricket to bag 100 Test wickets. Daniel Vettori was the youngest spinner ever to make it into one hundred club. Harbhajan Singh and Saqlain Mushtaq are the other two legendary spinners ahead of Miraz in this chart. Only Saqlain Mushtaq played fewer matches than Miraz to reach 100 Test wickets though.

Miraz is having a good run with both bat and ball against Windies. He scored his first Test hundred in the first Test, bagged another fifty in the ongoing Test as well. He also picked up a number of wickets with a man of the match performance in the ODIs.
