Marzan out of danger and left the hospital
She was injured against Sri Lanka during Bangladesh's team Kumite bout.
Gold medalist Marzan Akhter is now safe after her injury. She was released from a Kathmandu hospital after an initial scan and treatment.
Marzan was hospitalised after being injured during the team Kumite Karate event on Wednesday. She is out of danger now after treatment, confirmed General Secretary of Bangladesh Karate Federation, Kyaw Shwe Hla.
Marzan suffered injury after being hit below her ear while playing against her Sri Lankan opponent. She was brought out of the venue immediately and taken to the nearest Blue Cross Hospital via ambulance.

The medical officer-in-charge of the Emergency Dr Prajwal Man Shreshtha told the press that the Bangladeshi athlete is out of danger, but they will proceed with further investigation.
"We are investigating and provided some painkillers as the patient complained about pain on his head and neck. She seems ok now. But we called a neuro specialist for further investigation." the physician said.
The general secretary also confirmed her safety. "She is now in hospital. I just talked to the manager who is now with Priya (Marzan). She assured me that Priya is alright now. We have lost a gold medal for her injury."
Later, Marzan had her city scan and Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon, Dr Abhishek Chaturvedi said there was nothing to worry about. The neurosurgeon also commenter that she (Marzan) will be released soon, after a couple of hours of cautionary observation.
Bangladesh Women's Kumite team comprising Mounjera Borna, Marzan Akter Priya, Humaira Akther Antara and Naima Khatun, managed to beat Sri Lanka by 2-1 but lost to Pakistan by the same margin without the injured Marzan.
Marzan won a gold medal on Tuesday in Kumite -55 kg category. It was Bangladesh's third gold from Karate.
