It's better not to see the SL tour as part of the Test Championship: Razzak

Newly appointed selector and former left-arm spinner Abdur Razzak has said that they are already working on preparing players in order to fill the voids when the senior players retire. 

The veteran, on Saturday, said, "You cannot win with a team full of youngsters. Then again, you cannot only play experienced players. We have already started working on preparing the players so that we don't face any trouble during the transition period. It's a continuous process and I've just become part of it."

Razzak opined that lack of execution of plans hurt Bangladesh in New Zealand and also suggested that the state of Bangladesh cricket cannot be judged by the New Zealand tour. "Yes, it's frustrating the way Bangladesh batted. I feel we couldn't execute the plans properly. It's always difficult to win in New Zealand as a sub-continental team. Even India find it difficult. So in my opinion, you cannot judge the state of our cricket by New Zealand tour."

"It's better not to see the Sri Lanka tour as part of the Test Championship as we won't be able to play the final. We are taking it as a regular series. But that doesn't mean we will experiment too much and send a second or third-string team. We will try to do well," Razzak added.

The selector of the team also mentioned that if Mustafizur Rahman is allowed to play the IPL, then they will not consider him. "It's up to the board. If it allows him to play the IPL, then we will form the squad excluding him," said Razzak.
