Bangladesh Green have progressed to the final of the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Games by beating Bangladesh Red by six wickets.

Batting first, Bangladesh Women (Red) could not score more than 157 for eight in their allotted 50 overs. Sharmin Shupta top-scored for them with 72. Apart from her, no other batter could cross 25. Shupta added 41 with Zinnat Orthi for the second wicket and 49 with Rubya Haider Jhilik. Other than these two, there was no substantial partnership.

For Bangladesh Women (Green), Ritu Moni, Disha Biswas, and Sanjida Maghla picked up two wickets apiece.

In reply, Bangladesh Women (Green) were off to the worst possible start. They lost their openers- Dilara Dola and Sarmin Sultana inside two overs. Sanjida Islam, the number three batter, was dismissed in the 8th over and after 16 overs, Bangladesh Women (Green) were tottering at 39 for four with the possibility of losing the match looming large.

But Rumana Ahmed did not let the match slip from their hands. She paired up with Ritu Moni and put on a superb 120-run partnership and in the process won the game for her side without losing another wicket. Rumana remained unbeaten on 80 off 148 balls. Her innings was studded with nine boundaries. Ritu Moni, after picking up two wickets with the ball, was brilliant too with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 51 off 80 balls with five fours.

Bangladesh Green will lock horns with Bangladesh Blue at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on March 12 in the final of the tournament.
