His death comes just weeks after the team’s captain, Zakaria Pintoo, left this world.

Fazle Sadaine Khokon, a former member of the iconic Swadhin Bangla Football Team, passed away on 7 December.
His death comes just weeks after the team's captain, Zakaria Pintoo, left this world. Khokon had been suffering from various age-related illnesses and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka.
His body is now being taken to Rajshahi, where he lived.
Ashraf Ali, another member of the Swadhin Bangla Football Team, shared details of Khokon's final days. "Khokon had been battling multiple ailments associated with old age. He lived in Rajshahi, and his wife informed me that he was admitted to a hospital in Dhaka," said Ashraf.
Khokon, a midfielder during his playing days, was a key figure in the Swadhin Bangla Football Team.
While he continued playing football after Bangladesh's independence, he was never selected for the national team.
Reflecting on Khokon's career, Ashraf Ali added, "He was primarily known for his contributions to the Swadhin Bangla Football Team. He also played for EPDIC before retiring and settling in Rajshahi."
The Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has expressed deep sorrow over his passing.
Khokon is survived by his wife, a son, a daughter, and many admirers who continue to celebrate his contributions to the country's footballing history.
