5:53 pm

Bangladesh finally get rid of de Kock who can't believe that he's picked out the man in the deep! The Wankhede crowd rises in applause after the end of a wonderful knock, cheering him on the way back to the pavilion! Low full toss outside off, de Kock deliberately slices it in the air but it's well taken by Nasum at the backward point boundary.

De Kock departs for 174, the highest of this World Cup, on his old IPL home ground.

Heinrich Klaasen brings up a 34-ball fifty as South Africa go 300 up. They are now eyeing a big finish with five more overs to go.

De Kock is unbeaten on 174 from 139 balls.

SA: 309/3 (45 overs)
5:42 pm

Quinton de Kock is in no mood to stop, hitting boundary for fun. He hammers Shakib for two fours and two sixes to edge past tthe 150-run mark. SA: 283/3 (43 overs)

4:54 pm

Quinton de Kock has his third hundred in five World Cup matches in 2023. The dressing room, and the crowd, rise in unison as de Kock salutes them. He is currently the second-highest run scorer of this World Cup with 334* runs to his name.

SA are 196/3 after 35 overs.

4:29 pm

Shakib Al Hasan gets a well-needed breakthrough for Bangladesh. Tosses the ball up on the off-stump line to the South African skipper. Aiden Markram takes a foot out and looks to take him on to loft the ball high up in the air towards long off. Litton Das comfortably gets under the ball and takes an easy catch to break the partnership.

SA are 169/3 after 31 overs.

3:57

Quinton de Kock and Aiden Markram are going strong in the third-wicket partnership. De Kock reached his fifty and is unbeaten on 69 and Markram has bagged 32.

Bangladesh are badly in need of a breakthrough to fight back in the game.

SA are 113/2 after 22 overs.

3:06 pm

Mehidy Hasan gets into the act now! South Africa lose Rassie van der Dussen now and they are in some early trouble. That was plumb in front.

South Africa are 41/2 after nine overs.

3:00 pm

Shoriful Islam draws first blood for Bangladesh! He came from over the wicket and hurled it on a length, on off and middle, Reeza Hendricks planted his foot forward and presented a straight bat to defend. He failed to account for the inward movement and pays the price. The ball jagged back in off the surface and beat him on the inside edge before sneaking through the big gap between bat and pad. Hendricks saw his woodwork disturbed and had to make the walk back.

Shoriful Islam is ecstatic as he broke into a dance.

South Africa are 35/1 after seven overs.

2:15 pm

A 'fully fit' Shakib Al Hasan returned to Bangladesh's playing XI as the Tigers have been asked to bowl first after losing the toss against South Africa at Mumbai.

Bangladesh made only one change to their playing Xi, Shakib replaced Towhid Hridoy in the side.

South Africa have also made a change replacing injured Lungi Ngidi with Lizaad Williams. It's a World Cup debut for him.

"I don't mind bowling first, if we can restrict them to a reasonable total hopefully we can chase them down," Shakib said at the toss.

"We have to play our best cricket."

"It's really hot. It took a toll on everyone, it's advantage fielding in the evening. It proves that anyone can beat anyone. We took a lesson from that Netherlands game, it's a new day today. We need to try and repeat the same thing," South Africa skipper Aiden Markram said at the toss.

Bangladesh are placed seventh, having secured just one win in the four matches. They head into the contest after enduring three losses on the trot and will hope to return to winning ways.

Bangladesh (Playing XI): Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Shakib Al Hasan(c), Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Mushfiqur Rahim(w), Mahmudullah, Nasum Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam, Hasan Mahmud
South Africa (Playing XI): Quinton de Kock(w), Reeza Hendricks, Rassie van der Dussen, Aiden Markram(c), Heinrich Klaasen, David Miller, Marco Jansen, Gerald Coetzee, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Rabada, Lizaad Williams
