The BCB responded to a request from the Centre for Research and Information (CRI) for providing specially modified wheelchairs to the Bangladesh Wheelchair Cricketers Association.

BCB President Nazmul Hassan talked about why these wheelchairs were provided to the players in the program. He said, "The wheelchair team have been playing for quite some days and they are doing well. They informed us that they could not cope up with the other teams with normal wheelchairs. We said them back then that they will be provided with the wheelchairs they want."

He added, "According to their demands, we searched for cricket-friendly wheelchairs. We tried to bring in the wheelchairs used in England. But we came to know that those were not available. So we brought the ones which the players wanted."

Bangladesh wheelchair cricket team captain Mohsin was confident that they would bring in better results with these new wheelchairs. He said, "We were facing a lot of problems with our wheelchairs. By the time we took one run, the Indians or the Nepalese took three. Their wheelchairs were sports grade. We lost to Nepal in the final just because of this."

Mohsin further added, "That is why we asked the board for cricket-friendly wheelchairs. We are grateful to the board that they have provided us with the chairs we wanted. I hope, we can do better from now on."
