After reviewing an investigation report, the National Sports Council has taken action. The committee of the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), led by Aminul Islam, has been dissolved by the country's sports regulatory authority.
Alongside dissolving the board, the National Sports Council on Tuesday also announced an ad-hoc committee. Former national team captain Tamim Iqbal has been named president of the ad-hoc committee.
With the approval of State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque, a five-member investigation committee was formed last month by the National Sports Council. The committee was tasked with examining allegations of irregularities and manipulation in the most recent BCB election. Led by retired Supreme Court Justice AKM Asaduzzaman, the committee submitted its report last Sunday. Two days later, the National Sports Council took action.
