Barishal claim BPL title and a hefty payday, prize money breakdown for all teams

After 40 days of intense competition, Fortune Barishal lifted the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) trophy.

On Friday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur, Tamim Iqbal's side edged past Chittagong Kings in a thrilling final, securing a three-wicket victory to claim back-to-back BPL titles.

Along with the coveted trophy, the champions are also taking home a substantial cash prize.

This season's BPL prize money saw a significant increase of over Tk 2 crore, resulting in higher rewards for the teams. As champions, Barishal received Tk 2.5 crore, an increase from the Tk 2 crore they won last season. The runners-up, Chittagong Kings, also benefited from the prize money boost, earning Tk 1.5 crore—up from the Tk 1 crore awarded to the previous edition's runners-up.

For the first time in BPL history, the teams finishing third and fourth have also been awarded prize money. Khulna Tigers, who secured third place, will receive Tk 60 lakh, while Rangpur Riders, eliminated in the Eliminator, will get Tk 40 lakh. Additionally, for the first time, the tournament's best emerging player is receiving a cash prize. Dhaka Capitals' Tanzid Hasan Tamim, who was the tournament's second-highest run-scorer with 485 runs, has been awarded Tk 3 lakh.

Finals hero Tamim Iqbal, named Player of the Match, will receive Tk 5 lakh. Khulna Tigers captain Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who shone with both bat and ball, was named Player of the Tournament after scoring 355 runs and taking 13 wickets. His reward is Tk 10 lakh. Khulna opener Naim Sheikh, who topped the tournament's run charts with 511 runs in 14 matches, including a century and three fifties at an average of 42.58, has been awarded Tk 5 lakh.

Durbar Rajshahi pacer Taskin Ahmed, who claimed the most wickets in the tournament with 25 scalps in 12 matches, has also been rewarded with Tk 5 lakh. Meanwhile, despite being a wicketkeeper, Fortune Barishal's Mushfiqur Rahim was named the tournament's best fielder and will receive Tk 3 lakh.
