Trump orders airstrikes after Iranian attack kills two US troops in Jordan
The United States launched a new wave of airstrikes against Iran after two US service members were killed and a third went missing during an attack on a military base in Jordan. Ordered by President Donald Trump, the CENTCOM operation targeted IRGC surveillance sites, military logistics infrastructure, underground weapons storage, and maritime capabilities linked to threats in the Strait of Hormuz.
The strikes came after the collapse of an interim ceasefire, with Iran later launching retaliatory attacks across the region. The US has also issued a worldwide travel alert for American citizens amid concerns of further escalation.
