Bangladesh’s Jahir Rayhan fails to progress in 400m at World Indoors
Competing in the third heat, Jahir finished last among six runners, clocking 49.84 seconds.

Bangladesh's only representative at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China, Jahir Rayhan, saw his campaign come to an early end after failing to progress past the heats in the 400m event.
Competing in the third heat, Jahir finished last among six runners, clocking 49.84 seconds. Across five heats, 29 athletes were listed, but three did not take part. Among the 26 competitors, Jahir placed 25th overall. The top two from each heat, along with the two fastest runners outside the automatic qualifiers, secured spots in the semi-finals, with the final set to take place tomorrow.
Jahir was not originally meant to compete in the event, as Imranur Rahman was Bangladesh's initial selection. However, an injury ruled Imranur out, leading to Jahir's inclusion.
Just last month, Jahir won gold in the 400m at the 48th National Athletics Championships, finishing in 47.72 seconds. However, on the international stage, he took over two seconds longer.
He is set to return home on 25 march.
