'Zootopia 2' now Hollywood's highest-grossing animated film of all time

Disney's "Zootopia 2" has raced past the box office to become the highest-grossing Hollywood animated film of all time, raking in a staggering $1.703 billion worldwide.

Meanwhile, the Chinese fantasy hit "Ne Zha 2" still holds the overall animated record with $2.259 billion.
The success also catapults "Zootopia 2" to ninth place among the highest-grossing films in global box office history.
According to media reports, Zootopia 2 has overtaken 2019's "The Lion King" ($1.663 billion), 2015's "Jurassic World" ($1.672 billion), and "Inside Out 2", while 2021's "Spider-Man: No Way Home" sits in eighth with $1.921 billion.
"This milestone belongs first and foremost to the fans around the world whose enthusiasm made it possible," said Alan Bergman, co-chairman, Disney Entertainment.
"Zootopia 2 is an extraordinary achievement, and we're grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life."
Released in November with an estimated budget of $150 million, Zootopia 2 is the long-awaited sequel to Disney's 2016 smash hit, Zootopia, continuing the story of its beloved characters while captivating audiences around the globe.
